Kuapa Kokoo

Today 4^th March 2009 we woke up to good news in the world of chocolate; something Kuapa Kokoo and Divine Chocolate have been working for over the past 10 years to achieve.

Kuapa Kokoo, through establishing its own chocolate company in the UK -Divine Chocolate - in 1998, demonstrated to the whole world that chocolate could divinely impact on third world cocoa farmers and make their lives better appreciated and their work better remunerated.

After a decade of persistent efforts this story of the new way the world could do business is catching up mainstream and Cadbury, the UK’s biggest chocolate producer has positively responded to it. This is good news and we are happy once again to be associated with it.

As our campaign over the last decade is gaining root, we further believe that farmer-ownership in businesses as portrayed by the Kuapa Kokoo and Divine business model is the true way to empower the farmers further up the cocoa value chain and able to share the wealth they have helped to create.

We believe that over the next decade the world will wake up to yet more great news of ethical businesses which follow the Divine and Kuapa Kokoo footpath.
